Big thanks to the Hypertune guys!

We thought it was about time we told you about some good friends of ours that went well out of their way for us last year and in fact were it not for their round the clock effort to bring the Japanese R magic RX7 up to spec to meet CAMS regulations, it would not have been running at World Time Attack 2010. And they did it for us without question and without charging us a cent such is their passion for what we are doing. I have known the brains behind Hypertune, Mark Bissett for probably near on fifteen years now, since he was a maintenance engineer at Qantas and tinkering with high powered drag racing Hondas out the back of a workshop in Gladesville in his spare time. And to be perfectly honest his philosophy remains exactly the same today as it did back in those early years. Zero compromise on quality backed by sound research, design and engineering and this is evident not only in the products the company makes today but the calibre of his customers. Once again Hypertune have opened their doors to us and have told us their guys will be on standby and do “whatever it takes” to make any of the overseas cars comply and for that we are eternally grateful and the teams can rest assured they will not find more skilled guys to tackle the job anywhere in the world!

These days Hypertune are mostly renowned for their intake plenums and throttle bodies that are more like works of art in aluminium, such is the quality of the finished product. These plenums are used by many of the fastest cars on the planet including Titan USA and Gas Motorsport on their six second drag Supras, Godzilla motorsport his seven second drag GTR, the Advan/Hi Octane GTRs, Scorch racing Japan and many others. In fact for these days they are finding that their product is normally in such great demand around the world that often their production runs are all sold before they are even finished.

To build quality products you need not only the best people but also the best equipment, and Hypertune only have the latest and greatest Austrian made Fronius TIG welding machines and it shows in the quality of their robot like welds.

While Peter is busy making some more throttle bodies, many no doubt destined for some of the fastest cars on the planet, often in lands far away!

Everywhere you look there are cars that look like they start at 1000hp!! We recognise the one in the background too! These guys have had their hand in building more Australian time attack cars than you care to think about too. Like how about this list, the Advan/Hi Octane GTR. The Hankook Carbon WRX, the Tilton interiors Evo, Insight motorsport S2000 to name but a few. And drift cars? Well they were responsible for the entire build on Beau Yates super trick TRD powered Corolla pictured below that is one of the red hot favourites to hand it to the Kiwis in August.

So at least now when you are walking around the pits at World Time Attack admiring the workmanship on some of these cars, it is interesting to note that many of them were built by three super dedicated guys just around the corner from Eastern Creek, and the same guys may have worked well into the night just so you could see the fastest overseas cars compete on Australian soil, because to be honest……. They want to see them as much as you!!!!
