Competing in the Clubsprint class at WTAC 2011 for the Tunehouse team will be Fytos George in his MY08 WRX Sti with a stove hot 2.6 litre stroker engine. This certainly seems to be the magic number this year with many teams punching the capacity out past the conventional 2.5 litre combo and the Sydney based Tunehouse Racing team is no exception.

The engine is stuffed full of all the good stuff too with their own brand of THR stroker kit and monster hand ported heads with THR camshafts and inlet manifold, a THR tuned length header and secret spec turbocharger breathing into a massive 4 inch taper exhaust with a harmonic chamber for added response. The whole shebang was screwed together and dyno tuned by Tunehouse head honcho and master tuner Jim Ghelis using ECUTEK software.

The suspension has also copped the full treatment with Tein Monoflex coilovers appearing on each corner with custom spring rates to suit the road orientated tyres used under the Clubsprint class rules. The rest of the suspension reads like a catalogue for Whiteline and includes Swaybars, Anti Lift Kit, Roll Centre Correction Kit, Gearbox and Rear Subframe Upgraded Mounts, Billet Engine Pitch Mount, Custom Quick Steer Tyre Rod Ends. Bracing was also added both on top of the struts and underneath the car.
The Tunehouse guys then broke out the corner scales and spent considerable time getting the corner weights to make this car handle like a true race car. The brakes were not overlooked either with a big set of AP Racing brakes all round with 6 pot front callipers on the front, 4 pots on the rear and two piece discs. The tyre choice is yet to be decided with the guys commenting they will be testing several brands and choosing the optimum prior to the event.
