There is no question that in 2011 the Recaro Clubsprint Class will be just as hotly contested as every other class with the best tuner cars and drivers from all over Australia aiming for the silverware at the World Time Attack Challenge. One person who is rather serious about it is Queensland-based Neville Scott and his Scorpion All-Wheel Drive backed WRX.

With a motorsport history dating back to 1990, Neville and his blue WRX have been a dominant force in sprints and hill climbs around the South East Queensland area. Among his many wins are this year’s Gatton Street Sprints outright win and a second outright last year.

There is no doubt a big part of those wins should be attributed to Neville’s skill behind the wheel , but it takes a well-sorted and powerful package to win in sprint style racing and this is where Scorpion All Wheel Drive have really stepped up to the plate and delivered in spades.

Starting with a 2.1 litre engine full of the best forged goodies. A Garret GT turbo was size-matched and fitted along with a Process West V-mount intercooler kit. The whole setup was designed to run on clean green and mean E85 fuel.

The suspension comes courtesy of a fellow Queenslander – Murray Coote with a set of his MCA coil overs finding their way under all four corners, along with a bunch of Whiteline goodies. The brakes have also had a makeover with a set of big Project Mu callipers and rotors now occupying the front and a set of Project Mu discs working with factory callipers on the rear. Project Mu pads all round complete an extremely well rounded package that is certain to have a strong showing in the Recaro Clubsprint Class.

Powered by a 2.6L Subaru engine, the buggy was totally developed in-house, showing Michael’s undying brand allegiance to the mighty boxer engine .
