The world famous DRIFT SAMURAI has confirmed entry into the International Drifting Cup in an amazing locally built RX7 and backed by Dori Junkie.

Takahiro Immamura or “The Drift Samurai” as he is more commonly known has been an icon around the world in the sport of drift as much for his crazy antics and dress ups as for his skill behind the wheel. His history in Japan goes back a long way, and he has competed around the world from Dubai to Austria, from UK to Korea and of course in his home of Japan. And more often than not competing in a Mazda RX7, so to see him compete in an insane build RX7 will be truly amazing.

And rest assured, the vehicle he will be driving is an absolute work of art!

A series 6 RX7 built as a labour of love over many years by Adelaide’s Cliff Clayson it features the latest technology “semi peripheral” port 13B engine with a Borg Warner EFR turbo making a reliable 550hp at the wheels on low boost with the potential to make much more should the need arise.  This is driven rearward via a TTI 6 speed sequential gearbox mated to a Cusco mechanical LSD.

The rest of the setup reads like the whos who of the drift tuning scene with Wisteria Kick Blue, DG5 supplying the suspension and a Wisefab lock kit, Megan Racing arms and Racing Beat, Whiteline and Super Now all supplying bits and pieces to make it work.

No expense has been spared on the body either with a full BN Sport BLS Luxury sport body kit wrapped in Rolling Thunder Harlequin Avery Supreme Wrap and some yellow Lexan windows giving this car and absolutely crazy JDM feel about it. Volk TE37 rims and Valino tyres finish it all off perfectly!

“We really cant wait to get out there and put on a show” said team manager Michael Ginn “Drift Samurai is one of the most under rated drivers out there he really is as good as they come and this car is an absolute weapon. Big thanks to the Dori Junkie Imports team and also Valino tyres”
