The Cyber crew have spent a full day at Fuji Speedway with somewhat mixed results before they pack up and head down under to Australia to defend their crown. Firstly they were battling with severe fog which at times hampered their efforts to get a full clean lap in and measure the changes they have made. All in all though, by the end of day the team walked away smiling so we can only assume they are happy with the changes they have made.
Certainly a majority of the changes they appeared to be testing related to aero and the Voltex guys were continually fiddling with the underbody before Tarzan would go out for another lap and come back with the thumbs up or thumbs down. It certainly appears that this may really be the secret to this cars success.
The teamwork behind it, and how they work together in absolute unison chasing the optimum result. The guys from Tomei and Unlimited works were also on hand to assist the owner and tuner Mr Takizawa-san with the fine tuning of the new 2.2 litre engine. The other thing that must be remembered here is that it is the middle of summer in Japan right now and temperatures are in the mid to high thirties with very high humidity.
This is a world away from the Sydney winter temperatures which although mild by Japanese standards, should still be reasonably cool with temps in the mid to high teens expected and certainly absolutely perfect weather for time attack racing.
