Well who would have thought that after three short years we have created what is the biggest time attack event in the world!
We had people travel from all over the world in 2010 to come and see what we promised was going to be a time attack show like no other and I don’t believe anyone went away disappointed.
With the new year now bearing down upon us, you will be happy to know that as soon as we got our breath back from pushing the last cars back into the shipping containers we were already planning the 2011 event. We have now announced the dates as the 5th and 6th of August with a Friday – Saturday format once again.

The big news this year is that we will be running a “double header” event with the Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge running throughout the day and once again featuring the world’s fastest time attack cars attempting to reset the lap record set by the Cyber Evo and as soon as the sun goes down turns ten eleven and twelve will be lit up and the best drifters will go head to head in the Tectaloy International Drift Challenge.
We have already confirmed some top international competitors for both Time Attack and Drift that we will be announcing in the coming months, with many more “expressions of interest” that are sure to grow as we get closer.
One thing is for sure – this is set to be the biggest import car festival anywhere in the world!
To ensure that there is something for everyone the pits will again be a hive of activity with all of the best brands on display and the once-a-year chance to grab a bargain as the big brands run their “garage sales”.
The skidpan will be filled with even more show cars than the 2010 event. We have also adjusted the rules for Pro Class to reflect the changing face of the world’s top time attack cars and also included some rules in the Open Class to maintain original type suspension, making it fairer and separating them from the Pro Class.
Upon doing this we have already had one major vehicle manufacturer confirm entry into the Open Class and I would not be at all surprised to see another follow suit. And this is just the tip of the iceberg for the 2011 World Time Attack Challenge.
Keep checking back for more updates but one thing I will say is that with the amount of cars being built around the country just for this event, and the talk around the US teams at SEMA show, we are in for one hell of a showdown at the creek in August.
Gotta fly – I’m off to Tsukuba to round up the big boys!
See you at the track.
