New dry carbon Evo X wide body kit from UberMotorsport

Australian manufacturer UberMotorsport, renowned for manufacturing light weight, race specification titanium and dry carbon fibre components, has completed the UberEvoX Wide body project.

The kit mounts to the Mitsubishi mounting points to allow reliable, consistent fitment and replacement of factory Mitsubishi parts and increase the width of the Evo X by 100mm! The basic kit is available to all Evo X owners and contains revolutionary 100% dry carbon front bumper, front guards, side skirts, rear guards and rear bumper in the Basic kit.

In the Race kit includes front splitter, canards, side skirt extensions, doors, hood, trunk, Uber Dynamic Wing, rear diffuser, and vortex diffuser – all made from dry carbon fibre. As UberMotorsport is all about lightweight and high performance, only 100% dry carbon fibre is used – no fibreglass was used in any of their parts!

“We looked at the Evo X and considered the huge potential it has a road car, retained the fundamental aerodynamics that Mitsubishi developed and took it to a whole new level!” says Adam Quinn, CEO & President of UberMotorsport. “In the high level design concept, we retained the masculine DNA that the Evo X is famous for, but we sent it to the gym, gave it steroids and taught it how to cage fight because we want the UberEvoX to absolutely beat the heck out of everything that thinks it can keep up! But it can’t just look tough – it has to have the aerodynamic performance to match its awesome image, the engine to generate the power to the great Evo AWD system and the lightweight body that is currently an issue with any AWD race car.” he said.

UberMotorsport have interpreted one of the most exciting new developments in F1 – the DRS wing system – into their own DWS – the Dynamic Wing System. DWS uses a simple but effective, remote controlled mechanism that allows the driver to directly control the angle of the top plane of the wing, therefore having instant adjustability of rear down force, anywhere at any time. There is a remote control that can be easily fitted onto the rear of any steering wheel that opens and closes the top wing by pressing a button on the remote.  This is particularly useful for high speed corners or under hard braking when the rear of the car is unweighted or for over taking moves. It can even be set up to automatically open and close on programmable ECU’s (such as Motec) that have a spare channel.
