With the release of the new Toyota 86 there is no question that the interest in the older Levins has been rekindled around the world and Andrew Collins will be certainly representing these guys at WTAC 2012.
After competing in the Open Class at WTAC 2011 Andrew has returned with a more refined and powerful package this year thanks to some careful tuning by the guys at GT Autogarage.
With a blacktop 20V 4AGZE with a home-made turbo conversion using a highflowed Thomas4parts t25 Turbo an MRP inlet plenum and an Adaptronic ECU, this whole package makes a very healthy 273 KW at the front wheels.
Inside is a Fabrication 81 steel cage and Fortune coilovers sit under the guards and 5 Zigen wheels are wrapped in Yokohama Advan AO50s
“This type of car is a proof that everyone is still welcome at the World Time Attack Challenge” said Superlap CEO Ian Baker “while the front of the Open Class field has certainly advanced into a big dollar, super competitive deal, as you would expect with any international level event, there is still room for guys like Andrew who want to come and be part of WTAC and compete.”
While he is unlikely to challenge the front runners, there is certainly a legion of fans for these cars who will be grateful to see a car like this racing with the big boys!
