When you rego plate reads “GTR-GOD” you would want to be packing some horsepower. And Vincent Rewcastles R32 certainly does not disappoint in any way, but especially the horsepower!! How about 508KW at all four wheels and 708nm of torque!! But don’t think for a second this is some straight line drag combo. Not a chance! This is a well thought out, very high powered RB engine built with time attack racing in mind. Let’s start back at the beginning when Vincent bought this car in from Japan as a stock standard road car around 5 years ago and since then he has spent an awful lot of time and money with the guys at GT Autogarage turning it into the stunning road /race rocket you see before you.
As with most things at GT Autogarage the planning started around the HKS catalogue and not wanting to mess around the guys went straight for the step 2.8 litre stroker kit. This was built in house by the guys at GT Autogarage and topped off with a ported head and a set of HKS 278 degree camshafts. A 6 throttle Hypertune plenum ensures the car retains its lowdown punch but has the grunt up top as well, but it is when you look on the other side of the engine you can start to get the picture that horsepower is what this whole deal really is about. A complete HKS TO4Z turbo kit with external waste gate is what makes this really get up and boogie. The HKS theme continues to the intercooler and twin power ignition system and the radiator is a locally produced PWR unit.
The gear set has been replaced with a much stronger OS Giken “cross mission” gear set and the diffs now house 4.3 ratios with a Nismo LSD unit in the rear. The brakes have been upgraded to 6 pot Alcon’s on the front with Project Mu pads and discs all round. The suspension consists of high spec Japanese Ohlin’s coil overs and swift springs and a lot of R and D in the chassis department from the guys at GT Auto to ensure everything is working to its optimum and the fastest possible lap time is achievable.
The seats are Japanese Bride Zeta and while the interior was apart David the master fabricator at GT Autogarage set about welding in a Cro-moly roll cage to tie everything together. The trick fabrications continue into the boot area that houses a fuel system to feed the hungry RB engine and the quality of the work in every part of this build is first class. When Vincent is not racing the GTR he also finds time to race his Turbo 911 Porsche but he admits “The Porsche would not see which way the GTR went, either in a straight line or around the bends.” And looking at the spec sheet we certainly have no problem believing him!
