The Sydney based Prep’d Motorsport team have confirmed entry into the 2013 World Time Attack Challenge.
This car came fourth outright in 2010 (and fastest Australian car) in the skilled hands of V8 Supercar driver and reigning WTAC Pro Class champion Warren Luff and backed it up with a 1.31 second time in 2011 for seventh place.
ABOVE: With a lap time of 1:32.2730 this was the fourth fastest and the fastest Australian car at the 2010 World Time Attack Challenge. Keep in mind the winning time that year was 1:30.5870 achieved by Tarzan Yamada in the CyberEvo.
Unfortunately the team did not run in 2012 due to transmission issues but have vowed to come back in 2013 for “one more go” with the ultra experienced Barton Mawer behind the wheel.
The car is powered by the original Toyota 2ZZ GTE engine but the supercharger that ran on this car from the factory is long gone and in its place you will find a rather large Garrett turbocharger and intercooler set up all built by the guys at Prep’d.
The engine features forged internals, a MoTec ECU and a host of other tweaks. The suspension is Ohlins and the brakes are AP Racing and the whole package weighs in at well under 800kg. With well over 500hp on tap, this is a very potent and well handling package. With an experienced driver behind the wheel this car is not to be underestimated.
“This is the real deal – a genuine Lotus Exige GT3 chassis number 001″ said Prep’d engineer Lachlan Cook “We were actually using the 2010 event as a shakedown for an up coming race but both the owner Angelo Lazarus and Luffy had so much fun that weekend we came back again in 2011. “
“This year the car is currently for sale so we thought it would be a good opportunity to give it one last big shot at the title it in front of the whole world.”
If you’re interested in purchasing this car contact Lachlan Cook on email@example.com. It is one hell of a car for the asking price of $150,000 (about one third of what it cost 5 years ago) and is suitable for many classes of racing.
