As if having the PanSpeed RX-7 wasn’t enough a reason for the rotary fans to come to the World Time Attack Challenge, we have secured an equally competitive RX-7 from the Japanese tuning shop Pro Staff R-Magic.
Weighing in at just 1040kg, the 600hp RX7 FD3s Type R is as fast as it looks having clocked 55.9 seconds at Tsukuba in 2006. With more horsepower and a full new dry carbon aero body kit the car is now reportedly much faster in testing and certainly a contender for the outright honours and will no doubt be a sight to see at the fast flowing Eastern Creek circuit.
Another other point worth mentioning here is that both Pan-speed and R magic are now running turbochargers developed locally in Sydney by our corporate partner GCG turbochargers.
“We are delighted to announce the attendance of the R-Magic RX7” said Ian Baker CEO of Superlap Australia, “We now have two very competitive rotaries in the Pro-Class and we want to see the legions of rotary fans that Australia is famous for trackside cheering them on!”
