The Tectaloy drift challenge was held over 2 days with 1 hour on Friday and the final battles on the Saturday. With two top line D1 drivers from Japan competing against Australia’s best it always promised to be spectacular and didn’t disappoint in any way.
The hill at Eastern Creek was packed with spectators as some of the best battles seen in many years had the crowd on their feet but when the smoke cleared it was former Australian drift champion Beau “the show” Yates driving an AE86 claiming the win over Simon “Pitbull” Podlewski in the team CTS Silvia and “Mean Lean” Eugene Arundsen rounding out the placings.
