The Tectaloy International drift challenge is set to light up the night sky at Eastern Creek with a smoke show like no other. With many of the entrants already confirming they will be running a lightshow on their car the spectacle is one that is not to be missed by anyone remotely interested in motorsport. By bringing the upper echelon of the Australian drift community along with the top guys from D1 New Zealand, it is certain to be on for young and old as Australia and New Zealand have long held a bitter rivalry in the sporting arena. This will be no exception
“By moving the drift to an evening format we believe we have ticked many boxes” said Superlap marketing manager, Greg Lysien “Firstly both the time attack and drift teams will see more track time, secondly we now have two full length shows for one ticket entry price. This represents extremely good value for our spectators many of whom will be travelling from interstate or overseas for the event. Even if you only wanted to catch the drift in the evening, it would make sense to come earlier and see some of the time attack sessions and vice versa, we certainly know many of the time attack teams will be hanging around this year to watch the drift, which previously was not possible. And thirdly and most importantly, the drift show really does lend itself to night viewing and with the cars all lit up will be something else and no doubt a photographers dream”
Throughout the day whilst the World Time Attack is on the track the cars will be displayed in the pit area with a some of the top cars also doing a couple of demo laps at lunchtime to give a hint of what is in store for the evening. Tectaloy will also running some cool promotions and driver autograph sessions throughout the day giving fans the chance to come and talk with their favourite drivers and check out their machinery up close.
