There are three young upcoming stars competing at World Time Attack from around various parts of Australia and not one of them is a day over the age of eighteen. All three of them have the undying support of their families, a big following with their local communities and all three of them have made a big impact in their chosen discipline.
The first is a young drifter from Tasmania named Lloyd Smith. Lloyd already has years of experience and has won almost everything there is to win down in his hometown of Tassie in his crazy V8 Toyota powered Corolla. This guy is guaranteed to bring the crowd with absolute “balls to the wall” driving style in an old Corolla that sounds not unlike a Nascar. When his father asked him about his thoughts on going up against the best in the business his reply was simple “the pedal will be to the floor Dad!”

The second seventeen year old is also a drifter but this time from Queensland. Nick Coulson is known in the local Stadium drift series as “Driftkid” and has made a big noise in recent times beating far more experienced and fancied rivals and is currently snapping at the heels of the leaders. His family have rebuilt his Skyline for the trip down to Sydney and like Lloyd he has a huge fan base keen to see the “kid” take down far more fancied opponents with all too often regularity.

The last seventeen year old is the upcoming tarmac rally star from Adelaide, Daniel Day. He has been receiving coaching and tuition from pro rally ace Steve Glenney who reckons he “has got what it takes to go all the way. And when a former Targa Tasmania winner and factory Mazda driver tells you that then it is worth listening to. We wonder how much coaching Daniel will be getting from Glenney for time attack because he is a dab hand at that too just quietly!

“With all the bad press our industry receives regarding hoon behaviour and the like, it is great to see that young guys are still pursuing their motorsport dreams, and for these guys to compete at our event will certainly give them the chance of receiving unparallel exposure on a global level” said Superlap CEO Ian Baker “if they come here and do well, then the whole world will know about it that is for sure. We have media from all over the globe here for this event and anyone who is anyone in the tuning industry will be here too, putting them in front of the people they need to be in front of to move forward in their chosen careers” Whatever the case make sure you keep an eye on these three because although they may have to wear red P plates on the road, we reckon they could drive around the outside of nearly anyone you care to name………. and if they can’t yet, it sure won’t be long until they can!!!
