
Yokohama Australia has confirmed its commitment as the name sponsor of the 2011 World Time Attack Challenge.
“Yokohama has been with us since day one,” said the Superlap Australia CEO, Ian Baker. “We are delighted to have them onboard again for the 2011 event. It’s a great example of a company supporting motorsport at the grassroots level and getting directly involved with the public who buy their product. It is also no accident that winners of all three classes at the 2010 WTAC all used Yokohama tyres!”
Yokohama Australia’s Marketing Manager, Christian T Hansen (pictured), was equally excited. “Is Yokohama onboard for the 2011 World Time Attack? Hell yeah! We tried to promote ADVAN in traditional media and with traditional sponsorships, but it made very little impact. It couldn’t break through the clutter. After sponsoring Superlap 2008 and 2009 we had an energy drink and a cup of concrete and dived into 2010 World Time Attack. Now Yokohama’s premium ADVAN range rocks. We love using and promoting ADVAN wheels and tyres. Our customers love it too. In fact, one of them recently had the ADVAN logo tattooed on his back. Bring on 2011 Yokohama World Time Attack. I guarantee it will be much bigger than 2010.”
