TURBOSMART FLYING 500

World Time Attack Challenge and Turbosmart present the exhilarating Flying 500! One of WTAC’s most anticipated attractions, this full-noise format sends some of Australia’s most powerful machines charging down the main straight of Sydney Motorsport Park in pursuit of outright speed and the title of Flying 500 Champion.
Since 2013, the Turbosmart Flying 500 has become a fan-favourite at the World Time Attack Challenge festival, showcasing everything from twin-turbo Lamborghinis and 1500HP EVOs to some of the country’s wildest GT-Rs. The mission is simple — put power to the ground and chase maximum speed.
Cars launch onto the main straight in pursuit of glory, delivering a spectacle of acceleration, noise, and raw horsepower. With competitors regularly exceeding 280km/h, the benchmark climbs higher every year. Who will set the pace and take home the crown this time?
The Flying 500 is a top-speed challenge held on the main straight of Sydney Motorsport Park in reverse direction, commencing on the tarmac strip adjacent to Turn 1 and charging toward centre stage in front of the grandstands and pit building. It’s one of WTAC’s loudest and most dramatic attractions — and a true showcase of engineering pushed to its limits.
