Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge are proud to announce our first-ever team and driver from South Korea, Team Neotech, supported by local legends Shockworks and Haltech.
Flying the flag for the first official hallyu entry into Haltech Clubsprint is one of Korea's largest automotive influencers, Miji Kang, with over a million followers on Instagram and hundreds of millions of views on her viral reels.
With over 8 years of driving experience, Miji has found success in the drift scene, placing Top 8 at Thailand's D1GP Lights and consistent placings in the Indonesian Drift Series, scoring a couple of podium finishes under her belt. She's also been successful as a driving instructor for various Hyundai, Kia, Audi and Maserati events in her home country.
Building her drift skills in a Hyundai Genesis Coupe, at WTAC she will be jumping into a newly-built K24-swapped Honda Civic EG hatch, prepared by Melbourne's own specialist suspension shop, Shockworks. The new 2.4L heart of the EG is mated to a CL9 six-speed transmission and powered by a Haltech Nexus R3. Custom Shockworks suspension will aid the nimble hatch in its journey around the SMSP GP circuit. The Civic will be recieving a healthy aero package upgrade in the lead up to August, so stay tuned to our social channels to see more updates!
Although only having competed in a few sprint races in Korea, Miji tells us that she is busy preparing for time attack by spending time on the sim to familiarise herself with Sydney Motorsport Park. She's indicated she will be gunning for a podium spot and is pushing for a good result at her Aussie debut.
"Hi, my fans in Australia! You guys asked me every day when I would come to Australia to compete, and yes, I'll finally go to race in Australia! I can't wait to meet you guys - let's meet at WTAC!" says Kang.
"I'm excited to visit Australia for the first time, I'm curious about Aussie car and racing culture. I'm also curious about Australia's nature and I would like to meet a koala!"
