2026 Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge Day One Done!

It’s been a mega Day One for the 2026 Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge. Tanuki leads the Emtron Pro Class and the outright leaderboard with Todd Hazelwood running a 1:20.5720 on Day One to lead the world’s hottest time attack event.

In 2026 there are six teams vying for the win in Emtron Pro Class, with a huge mix of the fastest rear-drive, all-wheel-drive, and front-drive cars ready to put their science on the line to run One Perfect Lap. Alex Rullo in his Lamborghini Gallardo slammed down a 1:22.4410 to sit second in Pro Class, ahead of Kunihiko Bando in the Lexus RSC300, who logged a best lap of 1:23.8740.

The MoTec Pro Open class is headed by Rob Nguyen in his Dream Project S15 Nissan S15 Silvia. His 1:22.0050 set on Day One, puts him first outright, and shows the pace of this new class with professional drivers is rapidly moving past the formerly second-tier Plazmaman Pro Am class, which goes a long way to prove the health of the top-end of the time attack scene in Australia.

The 2026 Yokohama World Time Attack features a the return of the Hypercar Class, with all-new cars tackling challenging Sydney Motorsport Park layout despite multi-million-dollar price-tags and sky-high power outputs. Enzo Cheng ran a very respectful time of 1:26.0110 in his McLaren 720S GT3X to lead the category.

Drew Hall leads Plazmaman Pro Am with a 1:26.3790 in the Croydon Racing Developments Nissan Skyline GT-R and is looking fast for the second day. Sitting second in Plazmaman Pro Am is Aleck Kazakovski driving the Team GIR Subaru WRX STI, who ran a best of 1:26.8380 to lead Richard Perin in the PR Tech Ginetta G55 who set a time of 1:27.7060. Darren Bishop in his Mitsubishi Evolution leads GCG Open Class with a 1:27.9420, while Alex Michalsky has taken charge of Haltech Clubsprint class with a 1:29.9280 in their Plazmaman Mitsubishi Evo 6.

John Nguyen leads the Yokohama-ADVAN Neova Tuner class with a 1:38.4490 in their Sydney Composite Ospire Toyota Supra, ahead of Jie Ren’s Trackway Life BMW M2 with a time of 1:38.8390.

It is setting up for a mega Day Two at 2026 Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge, with a full day of time attack, drift demos, the Shannons Stylized Show 'n' Shine presented by Donut Garage, Mayhem After Dark on-track afterparty, traders, racing planes, and more.
