Saxon Moyes Wins 2026 Exedy Australia International Drifting Cup at WTAC

We’ve seen a new champion crowned at the 2026 Exedy Australia International Drifting Cup, with Saxon Moyes blazing the hides to stand tall among a stacked field of international drifters. This year saw a huge shakeup with the event programme, switching to a Friday Night finals round, in place of the traditional Saturday Night event.  

This moved Qualifying to Thursday night, where we saw the Top 16 selected through a rigorous series of battles. In the end it came down to Saxon Moyes (75), Tsubasa Nagasawa (283), Matty Hill (96), Michael Thorley (180), Alex Sciacca (9), Scott Roberts (22), Dillon McDaid (69), Warwick Hill (76), Derek Newsome (100), Forrest Wang (808), Sam Tabbouch (34), Adam Monck (777), Jason Ferron (31), Sean Bolger (98), Matt Harvey (720), and Patrick Barlee (2).

As the night crept coldly over the top-end of Sydney Motorsport Park the time attack pits became a hive of work, and the drift pits roared into life. Cars headed to the dummy grid and we saw battle after battle take place, with drivers including Tsubasa Nagasawa, Michael Thorley, Alex Sciacca, Warwick Hill, Derek Newsome, Adam Monck, Sean Bolger, and Matt Harvey, all knocked out by fellow disciples of drift.

The Round of 16 winners included Saxon Moyes, Matty Hill, Scott Roberts, Dillon McDaid, Forrest Wang, Sam Tabbouch, Jason Ferron, and Patrick Barlee, setting the stage for an epic Top-8 battle round. And they didn’t disappoint.  

The bracket was quickly dispatched down to just Saxon Moyes and Jason Ferron in the final (with Forrest Wang claiming 3rd spot over Dillon McDaid). With everything on the line, it was Saxon Moyes who came out on top, though we’d argue it was the crowd witnessing this display who were the true winners.  

While the 2026 Exedy Australia International Drifting Cup is over for 2026, don’t think we’ll be serving tea and crumpets with polite conversation on Saturday night! We’re bringing the MADness as the Mayhem After Dark on-track afterparty lights up the night sky and sends the 2026 Yokohama World Time Attack into the record books!
