The American invasion is officially expanding. Thanks to the support of Garrett Advancing Motion Australia, Team USA is bolstering its ranks for the Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge 2026 this September 4–5 at Sydney Motorsport Park.

Joining the fray in Plazmaman Pro Am is Clay Shearer’s devastating DuSold Designs twin-turbo Corvette, a unique machine that beautifully blends generations by engineering a rigid, classic C5 Corvette chassis beneath a sleeker, modern C6 body. Fresh off a comprehensive transformation, this hybrid monster is ready to shake up the field.

This isn't just a race car; it is an absolute masterclass in high-performance V8 engineering. At its core sits an engine almost cloned from the infamous DuSold Designs Camaro, a Borowski-built RHS V8 block packed with a Callies crankshaft, GM Motorsports cylinder heads by Landspeed Development, and custom engine blueprints designed by Al at CMP. Breathing through twin Garrett G35-900 turbochargers and liquid intercoolers, the combination generates a mind-melting 1,300 wheel horsepower. Managed by a MoTeC M150 ECU featuring advanced traction control, that brutal power is routed directly through a lightning-fast EMCO sequential gearbox.

To cope with the extreme velocity, DuSold Designs executed a masterclass in custom carbon aerodynamics. They pinned the chassis to the tarmac via a custom flat floor, a high-efficiency rear diffuser, wheel-well air extraction barge boards, a custom heat-extracting ram-air hood, and a massive dual-element Verus V2 rear wing mounted on custom supports.

Under the skin, the handling is heavily upgraded with Penske shocks, monoball bearings, and LG billet front spindles. Hauling the Corvette down from massive speeds is a full-on motorsport Alcon braking system featuring massive 380mm x 34mm front rotors, 355mm rear rotors, and billet calipers actuated by an Alcon pedal box. This elite setup allows Clay to regularly pull over 2.3g of deceleration on custom Forgeline wheels wrapped in high-grip Michelin rubber.

The arrival of Clay’s Corvette sets up one of the most mouth-watering storylines of the event: a true all-American heavyweight duel. His pristine, show-finished machine will share the hot tarmac with fellow Team USA contender Feras Qartoumy and his reigning, record-setting Pro-Am championship C6 Corvette. Which 'Vette will take the honours this September?

Both cars run twin Garrett boost, both push the 1,300HP barrier, and both represent the absolute pinnacle of global time attack engineering, but their build philosophies completely diverge. While Feras’s C6 is a stripped-back, battle-hardened international track veteran, Clay’s DuSold-clad masterpiece balances blistering lap times with an immaculate, show-car presentation.
