Double the Trouble: Matt Hall Racing Levels Up for WTAC 2026!

WTAC fans, you know the roar of a high-performance engine, and you certainly know the absolute legend that is aviation ace, Matt Hall. We’ve been lucky enough to have Matt thrill us at the event before with his gravity-defying solo displays in the sky in his Red Bull Air Race plane. But for 2026? We are taking this to new heights, literally!

This year, Matt isn't tearing up the skies alone. We are doubling the horsepower, doubling the smoke, and bringing you a mind-melting formation aerobatic display with the addition of a second MXS-R race plane piloted by elite RAAF fighter pilot, Flight Lieutenant Kris Sieczkowski!

Two Planes, Zero Room for Error
If you thought Matt’s solo runs were awe-inspiring, just wait until you see two custom-built, unlimited aerobatic race weapons flying wingtip-to-wingtip right above the track. The MXS-R and Extra 300L aircrafts are essentially racecars with wings.

When Matt and Kris lock into formation, they’ll be managing some truly ridiculous physics:
330 Horsepower screaming from heavily modified Lycoming engines.
A blistering 420° per second roll rate for lightning-fast synchronized snaps.
Speeds up to 240 knots (440 km/h) while pulling up to +14G.

Welcoming Kris Sieczkowski to the WTAC Arena
While Matt is a familiar face to the World Time Attack crowd, Kris brings serious, top-tier military pedigree to the team. A current F-35 conversion pilot and former RAAF Roulettes display pilot, Kris has flown at the biggest events in the country, from the F1 Grand Final to the Pacific Airshow. He’s also a national champion formation skydiver, meaning he knows a thing or two about adrenaline at altitude.

What This Means for WTAC Fans
Instead of one plane demonstrating the razor-sharp edge of aviation, WTAC 2026 will witness mirror-image loops, synchronized barrel rolls, and head-turning tumbles. Proudly supported by partners Red Bull, QBE, OzRunways, and Viva Energy, Matt Hall Racing is set to deliver an absolute masterclass in precision acrobatic chemistry in the sky. Get ready to look up, this is going to be spectacular!
