Feras Qartoumy Returns to Defend Title and Shatter Records at WTAC 2026!

After a masterclass performance that saw him secure the ultimate class prize last year, American time attack icon Feras Qartoumy is officially returning to Sydney Motorsport Park for the 2026 Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge. A special thank you to Garrett Advancing Motion for supporting our Team USA entrants this year.

Qartoumy took a commanding victory in the Plazmaman Pro-Am class in 2025, but he isn’t coming back just to sit on his laurels—he is returning to defend his crown and rewrite the history books by resetting his own Pro-Am record.

It has been a whirlwind global journey for the Texas native and his aggressively winged, twin-turbo C6 Chevrolet Corvette. Following his triumph in Sydney last September, Feras embarked on another highly anticipated campaign in Japan, culminating in an appearance at the legendary Attack Tsukuba event.

Unfortunately, motorsport can be a cruel game; after an intense build-up, noise limit enforcement saw the car black-flagged after just the first lap alongside Kunihiko Bando's RSC300, cutting both their respective campaigns short.

Following that extended and grueling stint away from home, the Corvette has finally returned to US soil. Rather than letting the Tsukuba heartbreak slow them down, Qartoumy has used the downtime to strip the car down for a much-needed, thorough freshen-up before returning down under.

This meticulous rebuild is designed to ensure the Garrett-boosted monster is not only reliable but faster than ever before. With the package completely refreshed, Qartoumy has his eyes locked on maximizing his performance through Sydney Motorsport Park’s high-speed sectors to lower the Pro-Am benchmark even further.

"Winning the Plazmaman Pro-Am title last year was a dream come true, but we know the competition isn't standing still," said Qartoumy. "The trip to Japan didn't go to plan, but it's only made us hungrier. The car is back in the States getting the love it deserves, and we are throwing everything at it to ensure we come back to Sydney stronger, faster, and ready to defend the title."
