After a commanding Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge return in 2024, Feras Qartoumy is set to blaze the podiums again at Sydney Motorsport Park in 2025 with a clear objective: to take the Plazmaman WTAC Pro-Am Class crown he narrowly missed last year.

In 2024, Qartoumy’s twin-turbo C6 Corvette stunned the field with a 1:25.45 lap, earning second place behind Finland’s R8 1:1—driven by Sami Sivonen—who edged ahead with a 1:24.83. Since then, Qartoumy and his team have shifted focus away from headline-grabbing upgrades and toward a comprehensive program of refinement.

The past year has been defined by seat time and precision. Qartoumy has spent extensive hours behind the wheel at elite circuits across North America, including Road Atlanta, where he recently set one of the fastest time attack laps in the track’s history. Considering the laps are half a world away from Sydney, Qartoumy hopes further optimisation produces a more stable, predictable, and consistent platform for his Aussie return.

Rather than overhaul the Corvette, Feras has focused on extracting performance from every detail—fine-tuning suspension geometry, optimizing aero balance, and improving thermal efficiency for reliability over multiple hot laps. The result is a car and driver that are not radically different from 2024, but a package that is measurably more composed and race-ready.

Qartoumy returns to Sydney Motorsport Park with the support from Garrett Advancing Motion with refined strategies based on his enhanced understanding of the track's flow, braking, and key sectors (we even spotted double TCR Australia champion Josh Buchan giving him a few tips ahead of the 2024 shoot out!) Analysis of 2024 data has informed adjustments to every aspect of the car's performance to suit this specific circuit.

WTAC 2025 will host a return fans have been eagerly anticipating. With the Corvette honed and the driver more prepared than ever, Feras Qartoumy returns not to participate, but to dominate! What lap times will he achieve this year? Only one way to find out!
