With eight-million subscribers on YouTube Donut Media is likely to be well-known to many WTAC fans. However, 2023 marks the first time Jeremiah “Jerry” Burton has driven at the Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge.
Driving Cole Powelson’s Lyfe Motorsports R35 GT-R in the Plazmaman Pro Am class, the Donut crew are stoked to be racing at WTAC 2023. Jerry even said, we would have to “beat him away with a stick” to keep Donut away from the WTAC in 2024.
Despite blowing a transmission during Thursday practice Jerry is rapt with Sydney Motorsport Park, finding the flow of the track great, while Turn 1 was described as “full commitment”. This is one reason he is keen to get more seat time now the R35 has been repaired, to iron out the creases.
Cole has so far taken the 1000hp, multi-time WTAC veteran R35 around the Sydney Motorsport Park in a blistering 1:27.252 for his tilt at the EMTRON Pro Class, while Jerry has run a PB of 1:34.53 while he gets to grip with the new car and circuit. We’ll be keeping an eye on how they go as the weekend progresses.
