We're stoked to announce Yashio Factory and Kazuyoshi “Okachan” Okamura are returning to Sydney Motorsport Park this September for the Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge. The mastermind behind Yashio Factory debuted at WTAC in 2024, and his return brings a significant change in both vehicle specification and competitive category.

For the 2026 event, Okamura is moving from the GCG Open Class into the higher-spec MoTeC Pro Open class. To compete in the Pro Open category, Yashio Factory has built a brand-new 900HP Mazworx billet SR20 engine with a new HKS GT6290 turbo to help the 4-cylinder screaming all the way to 10,000RPM. Okachan has spent decades tuning Nissan’s iconic four-cylinder powerplant, and this latest billet iteration represents the highest level of horsepower development the shop has ever brought to Australia.

As WTAC’s oldest active competitor, Okachan represents a direct link to the golden era of Japanese tuning and drifting history. While many teams have moved to six-cylinder conversions or modern chassis platforms, Okachan remains dedicated to the S-chassis and SR20 engine combination that defined his career. In the car's prior iteration, Okachan achieved an excellent result at the Tsukuba Attack event to gain him a 54.984 lap time around the legendary Japanese circuit. If this is anything to go by, the next version of this iconic beast will be impressive out of the gates at WTAC 2026.

Fans will easily spot the car on track by Yashio Factory’s signature hot pink livery. Online and at select Autobacs stores in Japan you will be able to support Yashio Factory's 2026 WTAC campaign by buying limited WTAC supporter merchandise. Visit his webshop here to grab yourself a collectible WTAC x Yashio Factory shirt.
Okamura is traveling from Japan to push a classic platform to its absolute limits against modern, high-downforce machinery. When the pink S15 rolls into the Sydney Motorsport Park, make sure you are trackside to witness a true legend of the sport competing on the world stage. Yashio Factory's S15 is locked and loaded and on its way to Australia as we speak, so be prepared to give him and the Yashio Factory team a warm welcome when he hits our shores.
