It’s been a mega Day One for the 2025 Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge. The Tanuki S13 Silvia leads the Emtron Pro Class and the outright leaderboard with Supercars superstar Todd Hazelwood running a 1:21.093 on Friday morning.
Unfortunately the Tanuki team has had a rough afternoon with mechanical gremlins preventing them from making it out of their pit garage for the post-lunch Pro Class sessions. Alex Rullo’s brand new twin-turbo Lamborghini slammed down a 1:24.137 to sit second in Pro Class, ahead of Tim Slade in the Scura Lotus (1:25.392).

The new MoTec Pro Open class is headed by another Supercars driver, Tim Slade, in the Extreme GT-R. His 1:23.375, set on Friday morning, puts him second Outright and is quicker than the existing Plazmaman Pro Am class record set by the Tilton Evo way back in 2018.
The 2025 WTAC features a world first with four of the most extreme, race-only supercars running in their own Hypercar class. Supercars racer James Golding ran a blistering 1:25.213 in the Brabham BT62, leading Tim Slade in the Pagani Huayra R (1:26.578), Fraser Ross in the Ferrari FXX (1:32.770), and S Stephenson in the Pagani Zonda R (1:40.899).

American Feras Qartoumy leads Plazmaman Pro Am with a 1:25.380, with the 2023 Pro Am champion looking fast. Sitting second in Plazmaman Pro Am Cole Powelson driving Drew Hall’s R34 GT-R Skyline (1:27.742) with Aleck Kazakovski’s Subaru third (1:28.333).
Darren Bishop in the GT Evolution Mitsubishi Evo leads GCG Open Class with a 1:27.473, while Plazmaman boss Alex Michalsky broke the Haltech Clubsprint class record with a 1:31.580. The 2023 and 2024 Clubsprint Champion, Trent Grubel, had a tough entry to WTAC 2025 with suspension problems earlier in the week, before coming back to run 1:32.032 before mechanical dramas struck.
Adam Casmiri leads the Yokohama-ADVAN Neova Tuner class with a 1:35.485 in the Lamspeed Yaris GR, ahead of the Southern BM BMW M2 Competition of Jordan Cox (1:36.664).

It is setting up for a mega Day Two at WTAC 2025, with a full day of time attack, drift demos, the Shannons Stylized Show 'n' Shine presented by Donut Garage, the Supercheap Auto Project Car Paddock, Garrett International Drifting Cup, traders, racing planes, and more. If you want to be part of the action we’re back to do it all day and night on Saturday, so get your tickets online at https://tinyurl.com/2y3w8sae or at the gate to be a part of this epic festival of fast.
