WTAC 2024: 30TH - 31ST AUGUST

Sick ’em Rex – Trent Grubel takes out Haltech Clubsprint at WTAC 2023!

Trent Grubel in the DC Jap Subaru broke the lap record TWICE in Haltech Clubsprint, running a 1:33.493 on Friday to best the 1:33.776 record set by Jimmy Asaad in the ERS Mitsubishi Evo last year. Trent then went even better on Day 2, pulling a 1:32.919 to break the class into a new time bracket!

Jimmy Asaad’s 1:34.031 in the ESR Evo early on Day One was enough to keep him second in Haltech Clubsprint. However, pushing hard in the afternoon he got loose and collected a concrete wall. This tore the front left suspension out of his Evo and pushed the two-time Haltech Clubsprint champion out of the event.

Michael Garland’s GotItRex GC8 rocked into third place in class on Day Two, recording a 1:34.198 in the shootout to lock in his podium finish ahead of Adam Casmiri who drove two cars in the one class.

Casmiri had his hands full with the Lamspeed GR Yaris as well as the JDMYARD/Hardrace Integra, running fourth and fifth with a 1:34.667 in the Yaris and a 1:34.950 in the Integra.
