Tanuki takes hold

Day One of the 2025 Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge is firing hard, with Todd Hazelwood in the Tanuki S13 leading the charge. Racing in the Emtron Pro Class he banked a 1:21.093 on Friday morning, topping the leaderboard. 


Fellow Supercars hotshoe, Tim Slade is running second in the Extreme GT-R, having stepped the car up into the new MoTeC Pro Open Class. Slade’s 1:23.375 is actually quicker than the former Plazmaman Pro Am class record, set by the Tilton Evo way back in 2018.


Fellow MoTeC Pro Open racer Nathan Morcom belted the GAS Evo to a solid 1:25.191 to sit second in class. In a world exclusive the 2025 WTAC features four of the most extreme, race-only supercars running in their own Hypercar class, with Supercars racer James Golding running a blistering 1:25.213 in the Brabham BT62.



American Feras Qartoumy is looking fast and leads Plazmaman Pro Am with a 1:25.380, leading Alex Rullo’s twin-turbo Pro Class Lamborghini which slammed down a 1:25.391. Tim Slade’s 1:25.392 lap in the Pro Class Scura Lotus pips his 1:26.578 he pushed out in the Pagani Huayra R hypercar. 


Sitting second so far in Plazmaman Pro Am is Aleck Kazakovski whose Subaru ran 1:28.333. Josh Muggleton leads GCG Open Class with a  1:30.109, while Haltech Clubsprint is being dominated by Plazmaman boss Alex Michalsky whose 900kW Evo pumped out a 1:31.580.


Adam Casmiri leads the Yokohama-ADVAN Neova Tuner class with a 1:35.485 in the Lamspeed Yaris GR, ahead of the Southern BM BMW M2 Competition of Jordan Cox (1:36.664)
